Your Czech Ancestors Left a Trail. I'll Help You Follow It.

Somewhere in a Czech parish register, written in ink that dried two centuries ago, is the story of your family. I help you find these records, read them, and turn them into a family story you can hold in your hands.

Membership places are limited — currently 10 places open.

You've Hit the Wall Every Czech Descendant Knows

The American records run out. The family tree sites show nothing before the ship manifest. The one village name your grandmother remembered is spelled three different ways — and none of them appear on a map.

It's not that the records don't exist. Czech parish registers reach back to the 1600s — but they're written in old German script, in Czech, German, and Latin, scattered across regional archives. Reading them is a profession of its own.

That profession is mine.

Choose the Way You Want to Discover Your Czech Roots

Every family history journey is different. Some people want to learn how to search Czech records themselves, with expert guidance at every step. Others would rather receive a professionally researched family tree and leave the record-searching to us.

More Than Research — A Guided Journey

For members who want to take an active role in discovering their Czech family history, My Czech Heritage isn't a research service you order and wait for. It's a guided membership: I guide you through your own family history, step by step — with systematic lessons in reading the old records, personal advice at every crossroads, and my hands-on help exactly where you need it.

You learn to read the old handwriting in your ancestors’ records. I guide the method, check your discoveries, and help you navigate the Czech records and archives that can otherwise feel impossible to access. By the end, you don't just have a family tree — you have the skills, and the story, to keep it alive.

Your Journey in Three Chapters

Your map, not your cage — your personal plan is always agreed together.

📖 Chapter One — The Family Tree

Most members complete this chapter in about a year.

Together, we build a six-generation pedigree from the available records: the anchor record that connects your family to a Czech village, all four grandparent lines traced through baptisms and marriages, and the dates and records that never made it online.

Ends with: your completed family tree in a designed chart (PDF).

🏡 Chapter Two — The Family Chronicle

Your tree has names. Now we give them lives: the houses and land your ancestors owned, village and school chronicles, land registers reaching beyond 1700, military service and village life — and your family's emigration story, from the village to the ship to America.

Ends with: your Family Chronicle as a designed PDF.

🌿 Chapter Three — The Legacy

Where the story goes next: the descendants of your ancestors, and living relatives in the Czech Republic today.

Ends with: your family tree expanded to additional branches.

This is the membership journey for clients who want to take an active role in researching their Czech family history.

Family Tree Research

If you would prefer a professionally researched Czech family tree, I accept a limited number of custom projects each year.

Who's Reading Your Records

IMG_20260807_182428151_PORTRAIT.jpg

My name is Zdislava, and I'm a professional genealogist from the north-east of the Czech Republic — within reach of the very archives where your ancestors' records are kept. I read the scripts that stop most researchers: Kurrent and the old German hand, and the Czech, German, and Latin of records reaching back to the 1600s. When a record isn't online, I go where it is.

My favorite part of this work is piecing together family stories — going beyond names and dates to discover the real people behind them, faces no one remembers anymore.

What I never do is guess. Every name, date, and place I give you comes from a record you can verify — and I'll always show you where it lives.
